You know you live in Utah when...

...you're standing in a gas station trying to rent a trailer to go pick up a new couch and the clean cut window washer guy waiting behind you in line offers to meet you at IKEA and drive your couch home in his truck. And then refuses to take the gas money you offer him after he helps your husband carry the huge thing into your house...

We lived in Utah for 8 years, and you are so right. People are lovely and friendly and above and beyond. And I still miss the mountains and desert.

Unfortunately, people like that are few and far between. That's why I love living in the country where manners aren't forgotten ;)
